Hurricane watch issued for South Florida

The storm is expected to rage until late morning on Monday and produce a total of 5 to 10 inches of rain, posing a “significant” flood threat, forecasters said. There also could be some tornadoes.

 

Gov. Rick Scott declared aSTATE OF EMERGENCY  in Florida on Saturday afternoon, as the southern parts of the state braced for a possible hit.

 

With Tropical Storm Isaac marching toward Florida and likely to strengthen, a hurricane watch has been posted for South Florida, from Golden Beach south to the Keys.

 

The watch means hurricane conditions are possible within 48 hours.
